Art Galleries (part 1)
Bronx River Art Center and Gallery
A multi-cultural, multi-discipline arts organization, it is a forum for
emerging and established artists to create and exhibit their work and
a place for students to develop their creative talents. Its programs,
exhibitions, classes, studio spaces and special events offer artists,
students, the community and visitors an opportunity to participate in
and experience arts in an urban setting. Exhibits frequently highlight
the community's relationship with a unique, nearby resourcethe Bronx
River.
En Foco Touring Gallery
En Foco mounts exhibits throughout the community of outstanding photographic
works by artists of African, Asian, Latino and Native American heritage.
Call for information on shows scheduled during your Bronx visit.
Focal Point Gallery
The works of emerging national artists are featured in this innovative
gallery on City Island, where the focus is on photography. An annual National
Juried Exhibition reflects the Gallery's long-standing commitment to exceptional
but as yet unrecognized photographic artists. Each year Focal Point also
hosts an exhibition of works by the rich pool of artists who reside on
City Island. A boutique featuring handmade jewelry and crafts from around
the world is another great reason to visit.
