Bronx Museum of the Arts
The Bronx Museum of the Arts is the borough's key fine arts institution
and is nationally acclaimed for reflecting the multi-ethnicity of its
community and New York City. An exciting permanent collection features
more than 800 works, primarily by artists from Africa, Asia and Latin
America. Changing exhibitions bring fresh perspective to the urban experience
and new insight to contemporary themes, particularly those with historical
and cultural relevance to the Bronx.
Casa del Sol
An indigenous cultural community center hosting the Adverse Possession
Gallery & Theatre and special events like the annual Mott Haven
Summer Street Festival and the People's Environmental Bike Tour of the
South Bronx. Casa del Sol also initiated and manages 10 community gardens.
City Island Historical Nautical Museum
Memorabilia, documents and exhibits bring to life City Island's nautical
history, from native Americans to the builders of four America's Cup
defenders.
